ABOUT THE URBAN REWIND
Hosted by KG.
Raised on the Culture.
What's up, I'm KG, your host. The Urban Rewind is where we run it back: the music, the shows, the movies and the moments that raised us.

THE STORY, FROM KG
Who's in Your Top 5?
It started with one question. Every week I count down a Top 5: the songs, the shows, the movies and the moments. Then everybody tells me what I got wrong in the comments. That is the best part.
This is for the people who taped songs off the radio, had a favorite skating rink jam and knew every word of the theme song. We are not just reposting old clips. We are building something for the people who lived it.
Then we made it a game. The Urban Rewind Trivia puts you on the clock across Hip-Hop, R&B, TV and Movies, and The Urban Rewind: Sports Game does the same for Football, Basketball, Boxing and Wrestling. The board resets every Monday, so there is always a new crown.
Along the way the work picked up a 2023 Webby Award, a 2024 Webby Honoree nod, 4 Signal Awards and a 2023 ABFF Award. The Top 5s keep coming.
